Dr. Doug Buettner is an Oregon State Physics Alum who received Bachelors and Masters Degrees in 88’ and 91’. Dr. Buettner is currently employed as a Sr. Project Engineer for The Aerospace Corporation working on national defense satellite systems. His Ph.D. is in Astronautical Engineering from USC. He is an author or co-author on over 30 publications ranging from biometrics, and software testing to theoretical physics. Now, in addition to his day job, he is supporting a particle physicist’ theoretical work on a new dark matter candidate called “Condensed Neutrino Matter”. Dr. Buettner will discuss his experience developing JPL’s Aerogel laboratory used for NASA’s successful STARDUST mission: a talk he gave at OMSI to the Rose City Astronomers. If time permits, and if there is overwhelming demand, he’s promised to briefly discuss developments in Condensed Neutrino Matter.
