Student Luncheon with Ray Beausoleil
Student Luncheon with Ray Beausoleil
Students have the opportunity to join Department of Physics Colloquium speaker Ray Beausoleil for a students only luncheon.
Ray Beausoleil is the 2016 recipient of American Physical Society’s Distinguished Lectureship Award on the Applications of Physics and will be visiting us as part of this award.
Dr. Beausoleil invented the optical paper-navigation algorithms incorporated into the HP/Agilent optical mouse, and now HP's large-format printers. He has expertise in a variety of fields, including solid-state laser physics, nonlinear optics, quantum optics, quantum information science and technology, nanophotonics, embedded computer algorithms, and image processing. His team’s current research includes projects on very large-scale integrated photonic interconnect networks; quantum technologies for post-“Moore’s Law” computing; and advanced integrated optical sensors for information processing, environmental, and biomedical applications.
Lunch will be provided by the Department of Physics. Please contact Clarissa Amundsen at clarissa.amundsen@oregonstate.edu to RSVP to this special students only luncheon. Space is limited.
