The field of Quantum Information Science (QIS) is a rapidly growing field, with an expanding number of potential applications that explore the capabilities of currently available noisy quantum devices. These applications promise to eventually solve problems beyond anything that classical systems can accomplish, both by enabling revolutionary future technologies and by addressing some very hard questions in fundamental physical sciences. I will provide an overview of the status and challenges of QIS technologies and applications development, as the field is continuing to push to improve fidelity and overall performance.
