Cell migration plays a critical role in many biological processes, including wound healing, embryology, and cancer metastasis.
Often, this migration is guided by chemical gradients in which case it is called chemotaxis.
During chemotaxis, cells must interpret the external gradient and convert it into internal signaling activity, ultimately
resulting in forces that can propel the cell forward. Many of these complicated steps can be studied from a physics
perspective. In this talk, I will present examples how combining experiments and modeling may lead to a better understanding
of this fascinating phenomenon.
