Multimessenger astrophysics is the broad term that includes all astrophysics research that is based on observations of more than “just” electromagnetic radiation. The other messengers include neutrinos, cosmic rays, and gravitational waves. I will discuss the infancy of multi messenger astrophysics, it first successes and challenges, and the potential for future discoveries. I will emphasize the role that OSU has had in some key aspects and the potential for future developments.
