OSU Physics Undergraduate students will report on their exciting summer research experiences.
1) Katie Banowetz spent the summer studying the effects of acoustic coupling on the interferometer at LIGO Hanford. She developed a data analysis program that calculates an estimate of the environmental noise background level in the interferometer.
2) Keenan Cabrera ...
3) Sam Grimm ...
4) Evan Peters worked at the DIII-D fusion experiment developing tools to analyze and visualize heat flux to the tokamak divertor plate during Edge Localized Mode instabilities. His findings may suggest an atypical asymmetry in heat deposition, but are otherwise inconclusive.
